Psalm 84

Adapted for Song by Edward Waters

How blessed is the man whose strength is God,
Whose heart is filled with Heaven's ways!
To a land of tears they bring springs of joy,
And blessings like early rain.

Father, I would rather stand at just the threshold of Your home
Than be welcome in a wicked lair.
How lovely are Your dwellings, O Lord of Hosts!
My soul yearns to dwell with You there.

O Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear and look upon my face.
For a day with You is better by far
Than a thousand any other place!

Father, I would rather stand at just the threshold of Your home
Than be welcome in a wicked lair.
How lovely are Your dwellings, O Lord of Hosts!
My soul yearns to dwell with You there.

The Lord God is a sun and a shield,
For He shines forth grace and gives me victory.
No good thing does He withhold
From those who walk uprightly!

Father, I would rather stand at just the threshold of Your home
Than be welcome in a wicked lair.
How lovely are Your dwellings, O Lord of Hosts!
My soul yearns to dwell --

O my soul yearns to dwell --
Yes, my soul yearns to dwell . . .

With the Lord of Hosts.  O Lord of Hosts,
How blessed is the man who trusts in You.
