Towns and Cities
Guilford County is home to ten different incorporated towns, and two CDP’s. (According to the Census Bureau’s web site a “CDP” is the abbreviation for “Census Designated Place, a statistical entity defined for each decennial census according to Census Bureau guidelines, comprising a densely settled concentration of population that is not within an incorporated place, but is locally identified by a name.”)
The ten incorporated towns or cities are Gibsonville, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Stokesdale, Summerfield, and Whitsett. Of these ten, all are entirely in Guilford County except Gibsonville and High Point. About half of the population of Gibsonville, and a significant portion of its area, is in AlamanceCounty, and High Point has a small piece in both Forsyth and Randolph Counties.
The two CDP’s in GuilfordCounty are McLeansville and Forest Oaks.
